Article marketing and SEO are the core of most successful web marketing these days, so it's surprising that so few marketers are really any good at it.You'd think that it being so important, more webmasters would take the time to figure out how to boost their page rank on Google with quick-witted, intelligent article marketing.
What it really comes down to is finding the balance between using SEO to improve your page rank and producing high quality articles.Without the right keywords, your ranking on Google will suffer, but if you only focus on those keywords, your readership will suffer because you don't have any content worth reading.
Always remember that ultimately, you are writing for humans not for search engine robots, but you need the search engines to help you find your human readers. So it comes down to writing with SEO in mind rather than just writing and then stuffing keywords in later, or worse, writing out your keywords then using a few words in between to connect them together afterwards and calling it an article.
Granted you need strong search engine optimization so your readers can find you but you need to give them good quality content if you want them to stick around and come back for more.
So clearly you need both- you can't simply settle for one or the other.Keyword optimization is very important too and you need to conduct a thorough research. When doing your research you need to ask yourself the following questions:
1) Who are you after?
2) What kind of market are you trying to get into?
3) What demographic are you trying to attract?
You need to know not just what people are searching for but you need to know who's searching for what. Justin Bieber may be a hot search item for thirteen year olds, but not if you're trying to attract thirty somethings who are looking for self-improvement stuff.
If you're wondering what natural, readable keyword usage looks like, scan through this article once more. This whole page has been an example of exactly what we're talking about.Google is a keyword, for instance, and we've used it three times in this article.
The same goes for article marketing and page rank.If you're writing an article that's relevant and useful, chances are you'll stumble upon the keywords you need if only by accident.
However, make sure to do your research and find a profitable niche before you waste your time writing worthless articles.Find out what words people are typing in to search engines when they are looking for information, use those words and develop a writing style that's natural, easy to read, interesting, engaging and maybe even fun, because if you get bored writing, they'll get bored reading.
